5 sights from the top of Lion’s Head

summit of Lion's Head

The hike to the top of Lion’s Head in Table Mountain National Park in Cape Town, South Africa, is one of my favorites. Though only 2,195 feet at the summit, it’s a steep climb and makes for a good quick workout. I could usually get to the top in about thirty minutes; forty to forty-five minutes if talking. I climbed this mountain several times while staying in Cape Town, and the following pictures will show why once up Lion’s Head is just not enough. Along your hike you can see:

1. Silver leaf trees endemic to the Cape Town area

2. The 12 apostles

3. Hang gliders

4. Sunset

5. Cape Town at night
