Shane and I volunteered at CDTI hospital in downtown Port-au-Prince, Haiti, for four weeks in February 2010. Shane was busy doing EMT stuff (he is a WEMT, “wilderness emergency medical technician”), and I spent my time interpreting Spanish for a team of doctors and nurses from Mexico, distributing the donations to the people, and taking care of the kids that were at the hospital. The kids taught me the basics in Creole while we busied ourselves with Care Bear coloring books.
I really miss the time we spent getting to know Haiti and the people who live there. I hope to go back sooner rather than later.

good job…
